Born in Vancouver, BC, Canada Katharine was probably used to the television and film production lifestyle as her father, Graeme Murray has been responsible for special effects on shows such as The X-files.

Like so many others, Katharine broke into acting act an early age winning parts on films such as Cousins, Cold Front and shows like MacGuyver. As time went on Katharine won bigger roles which would eventually build up to a lead role in Ginger Snaps acting alongside her friend and co-star Emily Perkins. It would seem that Katharine has been stalking Emily, being born in the same hospital, attending the same schools albeit 5 years behind Emily.

Whilst living in Vancouver, Katharine has built up a good and ever growing resume, not only on Canadian film and television but also with some of Hollywood's big names. In 2002 Insomnia was released with Katharine appearing with Al Pacino. It was during the filming of Insomnia that Al Pacino gave Katharine a bit of advice that led her to appear on stage in 2004 working alongside Woody Harrelson and Jason Lewis in an adaptation of Kenneth Lonergan's This is our youth.

2005 was a year mainly containing television bit-parts, but let's not forget Katharine's work on independent films, Show Me is currently on limited release at selected cinemas in Canada and the USA. We can only hope that 2006 will bring some big screen roles and DVD's of some of these critically acclaimed independent ventures such as Show Me and Turning Paige.
